New Mayflower (Shaftesbury Avenue) | Cantonese
With an emphasis on freshness, and a fine-dining finesse, New Mayflower’s exquisitely presented dishes are crafted from daily-supplied authentic produce and would give any Michelin-starred eatery a run for its money.
One of Chinatown’s oldest restaurants, but under new management, New Mayflower’s revamped and up-scaled menu is as vast as the cavernous two-floor restaurant itself. Featuring an epic 169 à la carte dishes and 40 dim sum options, there’ll be something to tickle everyone’s taste buds. Hot tip: heat-lovers must check out the new Hot and Spicy section.
Famed for their seafood, New Mayflower present an ocean’s worth of unique fish varieties. Why not sample the stingray or try the turbot? Other signature New Mayflower delights include their to-die-for lemon chicken (artfully arranged like a game of Jenga), and Fried Asparagus with Chinese Yam and Goji Berries. If you love congee – a traditional rice porridge – they’ve plenty of congee-flavour creations too.
Located on Shaftesbury Avenue, you’re so close to all the theatre action you can almost smell it, so the New Mayflower is a must-visit for a pre- or post-show upscale Cantonese experience.
