Mandarin Oriental unveils plans for second London hotel near Oxford Street
Last updated on
The famously extravagant Mandarin Oriental group has unveiled plans for its second hotel in London: a West End outpost to complement the group’s well-established Knightsbridge property. The new Mandarin Oriental Mayfair will open on leafy Hanover Square, a relatively quiet setting within an easy stroll of both Oxford Street and Regent Street, with the rest of London readily accessible via the soon-to-open Bond Street Crossrail station, which will face the hotel. The Mandarin Oriental group will oversee the management of the property, which is being developed by Clivedale London and designed by Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners, the same architectural firm that drew up the plans for 122 Leadenhall Street (otherwise known as The Cheesegrater).
