On Fitzrovia's Great Titchfield Street, with its numerous arrays of cuisines from modern brasserie, to Indian and Italian, at door number 60 lies a rare Persian bistro. Husband and wife duo Bahman & Negar opened Gitane’s doors in October 2012 presenting a new minimal, informal environment for all to enjoy. Frequented by many local and transient Fitzrovian’s, Gitane has become a go-to cuisine in the local area.
At Gitane, each week something new comes to the menu. Collectively with the help of our team we contribute to the creative process in helping to build the weekly menu adding anything from different vegetables, to spices and entirely new dishes. Although themajority of our ingredients are sourced right here in London, many of our dishes feature ingredients sourced from our home country of Iran.
We are trying to simplify the Persian edition of our home cuisine and after few tweaks we believe Persian food to be a goldmine for both the health conscious and those with gluten and dairy intolerance. Our aim is to share the food that we love and to offer creative and diverse food menus, which are nutritious, tantalising, and pleasing to all palates.
