Guide to... Trafalgar Square
Trafalgar Square is the biggest square in central London making it a centre point for any time of national celebration or outrage. If England ever won the World Cup it is likely that the celebrations would kick off at Trafalgar Square. It is likely too that if there was ever a revolution then Trafalgar Square would be a focal point.
Trafalgar Square is named in memoriam to Lord Admiral Nelson's victory at the battle of Trafalgar.
Trafalgar Square is home to probably the best gallery in London if not anywhere, the National Gallery. It is the best place to discover art by the greatest artists that have lived. The nearby National Portrait Gallery is quite good too but only really if you are interested in portraits. In a selfie generation that is probably the case but for me it is not too interesting.
Trafalgar Square has a good location if you are visiting London and looking for an area for your hotel depending on what you would like to do during your visit. It is close to the West End, has good transport links.
