A Company of Amsterdam Militiamen Print
by National Gallery

£20.00

1800s

This picture was painted in the 19th century, probably after 1850. An imitation of Dutch mid-17th-century painting, it was possibly inspired by 'The Celebration of the Peace of Münster' by Govert Flinck, which was painted in 1648 (Amsterdam, Rijksmuseum).

The arms of Amsterdam can be seen on the standard borne by the man on the left.
