Personification of Autumn (?) Print
by National Gallery

£20.00

1600s

The painting has been called 'The Toper', but it may well be intended as a personification of Autumn, and as such could derive from Teniers's series of the 'Seasons' ('Autumn') of about 1644.

This work has previously been attributed to David Teniers the Younger, but its quality suggests that it is the work of an imitator.
