Elegantly stowed in a crested scabbard with a knotted belt decoration, this letter opener is styled upon the favoured sword of preeminent daimyo, Toyotomi Hideyoshi, who rose from humble peasant beginnings to unify Japan and end the Sengoku period with construction of the famous Osaka Castle.
