The Remedy
Run by friends David and Renato The Remedy is a wine bar and eatery is a cosy, friendly Fitzrovia bar close to Great Portland Street and Green Park tube stations. With an extensive list of reds, whites and rosés plus a cellar list and a decent choice of champagnes you will be spoilt for choice. There's also a happy hour menu of choice of the day wines and nibbles available from 4-6pm daily, meaning you've got no excuse not to drop in and visit this chic and lovely bar.
Shampers
This compact wine bar on bustling Kingly Street is a long standing and well loved bodega, opening in the late 70s and still going strong. The busy bar has plenty of bottles for £25 or less and has a stunning list of wines from all over the world. Only dropping in for a glass? There's also a decent selection of wines by the glass too. The restaurant offers different fish specials daily, and has a menu of British classics, not forgetting their cheeseboard selection!
68 and Boston
Situated on Greek Street in busy Soho, 68 and Boston offers you a wine bar (68) on the ground floor and cocktail lounge (Boston) upstairs. As if that combo isn't amazing enough, 68 has a fantastic array of wines, proudly offering 45 different wines by the glass and boasting a private cellar collection. The atmosphere is edgy and fun, with weekends being especially busy, and the food menu offers tasty, exciting bites that complement the large range of wines. Upstairs, the speakeasy styled bar has a sophisticated air, with an eclectic list of beautiful cocktails.
Cork and Bottle
This legendary bar beneath London's iconic Leicester Square has a 300 strong list of the most fabulous wines, with monthly tastings giving you access to tips and industry experts. The cosy, relaxed décor is perfect for this cellar, and it's a perfect venue for drinks with friends or a first date. There is, of course, a delicious food menu to complement the array of wines, from the simplest of snacks to their famous ham and cheese pie. Since wine and cheese go hand in hand there is also a full cheeseboard to complement the softest, fruitiest reds or the crispest, cleanest whites.
Noble Rot
Founded by friends Dan and Mark, Noble Rot is an award winning bar and restaurant in Bloomsbury, and an absolute must visit for any wine lover. The list features a stunning array of champagnes, reds, whites and roses, with wines by the glass available if you feel like sampling several or just having a quick lunchtime drink. The food menu is a 'frenglish' mash-up of extremely reasonably priced dishes, and with Michelin star trained chefs you'd expect nothing else. A short stroll from Covent Garden means a detour to this fabulous bar is a must.
Whether you're looking for cosy and traditional or contemporary and cutting edge there is a wine bar for you.
