Sushi is not only nutritious and delicious it is also the perfect meal for celebrations. London is spoiled for good sushi restaurants but these are our favourites.
With a roof terrace that offers stunning views over London and a bottomless brunch menu in its repertoire it's no wonder that Aqua Kyoto is one of London's most popular sushi restaurants. Situated high above London's Regent Street is this beautifully styled venue, which offers several different menu options including a vast a la carte sample menu designed by head chef Paul Greening. The sit-at sushi bar allows you to watch the highly-trained chefs at work while enjoying your meal and a cocktail or two from the fabulous drinks menu.
Opened in 2008 this oriental fusion restaurant has to be seen to be believed. Decorated in a beautifully modern style, Inamo features technology that provides interactive projections on your table surface, which enable you to set the mood, discover the local neighbourhood, and entertain yourselves with retro games amongst other amazing features. Add to that some of the best sushi in London and you'll see why Inamo is so highly regarded. The menu is a mix of Thai, Korean, Chinese and of course Sushi served to share, the only difficulty you'll have is deciding what to choose!
Nobu (Berkley Street)
Nobu is a regular haunt of London's glitterati and it's easy to see why. Set over two floors in London's prestigious Mayfair , whether its lunch with friends or a romantic dinner for two Nobu won't fail to amaze you. Decorated in simple luxury with a buzzing atmosphere, Nobu offers an amazing sushi and sashimi menu, with a vast selection of beautifully designed dishes to choose from. The black cod in miso is world renowned and an absolute must when visiting this a-list favourite.
Located on the corner of Berkley Square and having the same owner as The Ivy and Le Caprice, you know Sexy Fish is going to be fantastic, and it doesn't disappoint. The breath-taking surroundings of this Asian restaurant and bar features art work by Damien Hirst and the Coral Reef Room on the ground floor houses two of the largest live coral reef tanks in the world. The a la carte menu has a fabulous selection of sushi and sashimi, as well as some meat dishes, including Wagyu beef. The bar is open till late, serving a specialised selection of Japanese whiskies and, of course, cocktails.
Sake No Hana
Offering modern authentic Japanese dining in beautifully calm surroundings designed by Kengo Kuma, Sake No Hana not only has a fantastic sushi selection but also many other stunningly presented Japanese dishes. Just a short stroll from Green Park tube, this Japanese oasis in Mayfair prepares sushi and sashimi to order at the sushi bar, as well as offering Toban and Kamameshi dishes. Feeling creative? You can also sign up to take sushi classes, so you can replicate their amazing menu at home.
