Guide to... Carnaby Street
Established as a popular shopping street with mods and hippies in the 1960s, Carnaby street has been an iconic Mecca for both Londoners and tourists alike for decades. From Mary Quant and Kleptomania in the swinging sixties to Size? And Skinny Dip in the present day, the street has always been synonymous with high fashion and culture. A haunt for celebrities, artists and fashionistas alike, Carnaby Street is a London landmark not to be missed.
Since Carnaby Street first became popular the area has widened and now the surrounding 14 streets including Kingly Street, Ganton Street, Poland Street and Broadwick Street are known as the 'Carnaby' area. Situated a quick walk between Oxford Circus and Piccadilly Circus, and easily accessible from Kings Cross and Liverpool Street a myriad of shops, bars and restaurants await you.
