Blue Plaques in London

The Trafalgar Way And John Richards Lapenotiere Black Plaque - The Trafalgar Way. Kensington. On Monday 21st October 1805 the Royal Navy decisively defeated a combined French and Spanish fleet off Cape Trafalgar on the south west coast of Spain. This victory permanently removed the threat of invasion of England by the armies of Napoleon Bonaparte. The first official dispatches with the momentous news of the victory,and the death in action of Vice Admiral Lord Nelson,were carried on board H.M. Schooner PICKLE by her captain Lieutenant John Richards Lapenotie
W. T. Stead Green Plaque - W. T. Stead 1849-1912 journalist and reformer of great renown lived here 1904-1912
David Low Blue Plaque - Sir David Low 1891-1963 cartoonist lived here at No. 33
Henry VIII Bronze Plaque - Here stood the Palace of Bridewell built by Henry VIII in 1523 and granted by Edward VI in 1553 to the City of London to house Bridewell Royal Hospital founded by Royal Charter in the same year.  The present building was erected in 1802 and in 1862 the court room of the Bridewell Royal Hospital was incorporated therein
