Mary Anne Clarke Blue Plaque - Mary Anne Clarke  1776-1852  Mistress of Prince Frederick Duke of York  lived in a house on this site 1803
John Adams-Acton Green Plaque - John Adams-Acton (1831-1910) sculptor, lived here
Annie Besant Blue Plaque - Hanbury Hall Built 1719 as a French Huguenot Church. Used by La Patente Church 1740 onwards. John Wesley preached here. 1787 it became a German Lutheran Church. Used by the Baptists then the United Free Methodists. Charles Dickens gave public readings here. 1887 Christ Church bought the building as its Church Hall. 1888 Annie Besant and Eleanor Marx-Aveling held the matchstick girls strike meetings here which helped to establish the British Trade Unions. Throughout its life this hall has served
Blue Plaque № 41334 - In Remembrance   On this site on the 16th August 1944 a V1 flying bomb fell resulting in 22 deaths and 144 recorded casualties
Pontefract Castle, London Bronze Plaque - Pontefract Castle. The 'Pontefract Castle' on Widmore St. (built between 1719 and 1746) got its name like many other buildings, streets and squares in Marylebone, they are named after the people who built up the area, the estates they held and their family titles.  The Duke of Newcastle had held Pontefract Castle in West Yorkshire for the King in 1642 during the English Civil War and it was John Cavendish Holles, Duke of Newcastle who had begun building the area in Marylebone in 1708.
