Henry VIII Bronze Plaque - Here stood the Palace of Bridewell built by Henry VIII in 1523 and granted by Edward VI in 1553 to the City of London to house Bridewell Royal Hospital founded by Royal Charter in the same year. The present building was erected in 1802 and in 1862 the court room of the Bridewell Royal Hospital was incorporated therein
C. L. R. James Blue Plaque - C. L. R. James 1901-1989 West Indian writer and political activist lived and died here
Ann Boleyn's Well Red Plaque - Ann Boleyn's Well. A romantic tradition alleges that a blow from the hoof of Anne Boleyn's horse caused the spring (now dry) to rise. However, "Bullen's Well" more likely refers to "Bolonia" or "Boulogne", the Count of Boulogne was lord of the manor in the 12th century. The well may have been near a chapel dedicated to "Our Lady of Boulogne".
