Blue Plaques in London

John Wesley Black Plaque - The probable site, where, on May 24, 1738 John Wesley "felt his heart strangely warmed". This experience of grace was the beginning of Methodism.
White Plaque № 11180 - West Ham Parish Boundary Stone. 31 W.H.P. WHP 1775 1864 1850. The dates on this stone show the years in which the boundary was confirmed. It was numbered 31 in 1864, but no longer marks any boundary. Parish boundary markers were beaten in an annual ceremony called The Beating of the Bounds. Parish boundaries were significant because welfare payments, burials and medical treatment for poor people used to be provided by the parish in which they were born.
Frank Matcham Blue Plaque - Frank Matcham (1854-1920) theatre architect designed this theatre
Thomas Arne Blue Plaque - Thomas Arne 1710-1778 composer lived here
Blue Plaque № 9666 - Chingford Mount Cemetery – Developed in1884 by the Abney Park Cemetery Company on land originally called “Caroline Mount”, named after the landowner. The original Chapel and gatelodges are now gone but the impressive gates, railings, and gatepiers survive
Black Plaque № 31631 - This building was the head office of W.H. Smith & Son from 1920 to 1976. The above sign was damaged by shrapnel from a German bomb during an air raid on the night of 10th October 1940.
